Chronicle
The old parts of Hotel Post Nassereith were built in the early modern period by members of the Sterzinger family. At that time the building was mainly used for hosting transits and it was the the family’s seat of the untitled branch of the Sterzinger family, a widespread family in the Tyrolean Oberland and the Vinschgau Valley. Over hundreds of years the building remained in the possession of the family until it was sold in at the beginning of the 20th century. In the consecutive 100 years Hotel Post Nassereith changed its owner changed hands many times.
In the second half of the 20th century these owners extended the building in order to respond to the growing demand of rooms in the region. Nevertheless, the vast building operations led to the bankruptcy of the hotel around the turn of the century and the hotel was closed. Until the year 2014 the hotel stood empty.
In 2014, members of the Sterzinger family combined and acquired the former family seat by purchase. The main goal was to revitalize the village. Extensive renovation works was undertaken in order to adapt the building to the current legal provisions. The reopening took place in December 2015.
Today
Since the reopening the restaurant and the hotel is managed successfully by the Sterzinger Family. Our guests can enjoy traditional and modern meals made by home-style cooking. Our ingredients have a high quality and are sourced partly from our own agriculture and our own hunting. The rooms are furniture and decorated beautifully so that our guests feel like at home. We also offer the ideal setting for several feastings, e.g. wedding parties.
